About Carol

A graduate of Duke University with a degree in Science Education, Carol Frischmann is the author of two books and more than 250 articles about pets and nature for regional and national publications.  Her books, Conures and Attracting and Feeding Backyard Birds, are part of the Animal Planet Pet Care Series by TFH Publications. A lifelong companion of an endless variety of pets, Carol has been talking with the public about pets and wildlife for more than twenty years as a zoo educator, a wildlife rehabilitator, and a science teacher.  In her spare time, Carol had a successful career as a sales and marketing executive in technology for scientific research.

Carol is the pet columnist for KGW.com, the number one media website in Oregon and Southwest Washington, as well as for her own website, ThisWildLife.com. Membership in the Dog Writers’ Association of America, the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the Audubon Society, provide Carol with a rich pool of professional contacts, access to events, and promotional opportunities.
